New York based picture taker Niki Polyocan catches the transient snapshots of city life in her emotive photos, the surfaces of which are at the same time glowing and smooth. Working only with film, Polyocan stays faithful to conventional photographic procedures, loaning her works a powerful feeling of wistfulness.
Insightfully recording passing minutes with affectability, Polyocan hoists the regular in her realistic, striking structures. Not real to life but rather not organized, figures look at the camera, standing up to and holding onto their part as subject. The subsequent pictures feel like a sincere look at truth; quotidian minutes changed into something exceptional.
